This has been a heck of a week!!! 3 days at the Arena Club with the group and challenges on all 3 of them!
Last Friday we had a nutrition challenge. I am confident that I did pretty good on that one
Hopefully the rest of our family did too! Then Saturday, we had the spinning challenge. For anyone that has never done spinning, I guarantee you it is TOUGH!!! I always ride the stationary bikes but the spinning bikes are a whole new world! For this challenge we had 20 minutes to ride as far as we could. Gene won this one with an amazing 12.1 miles!!! Wow! I didn’t do half bad with 10.6 miles, which I can’t even imagine doing before coming to the Arena Club!
Then on Tuesday we had a strength challenge. Another tough one… I really did think I was stronger than I proved to be during this challenge! But, after expressing my disappointment, the trainers reassured me again that before the program I couldn’t even do half of the things we did during the challenge. Wall sits are incredibly hard and so are planks! Will kicked some major butt on those though! In fact everyone did really well and I could tell they were all very proud of how far they have come in the last 9 weeks!
We had a pretty busy week so we didn’t make it to the club on Wednesday, Brad had a band concert at school. Honestly, we didn’t even have time to exercise at home that day
It’s ok though, we were still recovering from the strength challenge on Tuesday!
Making healthy choices is still pretty hard but I am noticing that it is getting easier every day. When I eat something bad, my body tells me! I do know one thing, I am so ready for some red, ripe tomatoes from the garden! I could live off those things in the summer! There is nothing like fresh veggies from the produce stand!
Anyway, with the contest almost over, we are continuing to put all out effort into making our family as healthy as it can be. We really hope to win but even if we don’t, everything we have learned during the Fit4Life program had made all of us winners!!!
